We have recently acquired the Deka UltraSpeed CO2 Laser. This is the latest generation of CO2 lasers and is a real breakthrough in oral surgery and all soft tissue management, including disinfection and reduction of periodontal pockets. It only penetrates the tissue 1/10mm making it almost pain free. It therefore markedly reduces post-operative patient pain and produces faster healing with predictable results.
The clinical advantages of lasers are significant, but clinical performance is not the only reason for the heightened role of an UltraSpeed CO2 laser. Patients welcome the use of the lasers in their care and readily perceive important benefits such as increased comfort and faster healing.
Most surgical procedures can be performed with less anesthetic, no swelling and minimal post-operative discomfort. Its bacteria reducing properties have been well documented in available literature.
